LMT Network Digest - February 2022

February 6, 2022

As we flip the calendar from January to February maybe you’re feeling like me, ‘Wow, January already disappeared. Did I manage to accomplish anything?”

The New Year started slowly for me as I was recovering from some scheduled surgery in early December, followed by family visiting for Christmas, along with a few other unexpected things. I ‘tiptoed’ my way into January with low energy, a clogged calendar, and an overflowing email inbox.

It’s been hard to focus on what is most important when everything is clamoring for attention.

But the Lord really spoke to me through an email and a scripture about where I’m focusing.

The gist of the email was, ‘Are we too busy asking for things FROM God, or doing things FOR God, to make it a priority to KNOW and LOVE God?’

And a very familiar scripture from Matthew 7:21-23 became fresh again:

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

The words of Jesus, ‘I never knew you’, coupled with the words from the email have been a needed corrective to my heart this month.

God’s mission is not resting on my shoulders. The number of emails I clear out of my computer in a day aren’t what Jesus values.

Jesus desires relationship. Intimacy. Abiding.

All these other things that fill our days are important, but the most necessary thing is to be with Jesus.

Can I encourage you to join me in taking whatever corrective action is needed to make spending time with Jesus each day the measure of your sense of accomplishment?

Oh, how he loves us! Oh, how I want to love him more!

National Chairman

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
