Meet our Plenary Speakers

Don Little

Don, a Canadian from British Columbia, has carried a lifelong calling to love and serve Muslims—a journey that began at age 15. He spent ten years in North Africa with his wife, Jeanie, and their three children, serving as a TESOL teacher and church planter. Following that, he held mission leadership roles in Canada for over eight years.

Since 2007, Don has served as Missiologist-at-Large with Pioneers and directs the equipping ministry of the Lilias Trotter Center. He and Jeanie now live in western New York. Don holds a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, earned in 2009.

His passion lies in discipling followers of Christ from Muslim backgrounds and planting churches among Muslim communities. In 2015, InterVarsity Press published his book Effective Discipling in Muslim Communities, based on his doctoral thesis.

As a missiologist, Don advises Pioneers workers and leaders around the world. He also teaches on Islam and ministry to Muslims through online platforms and in-person training, traveling extensively across Africa and beyond with his colleagues from the Lilias Trotter Center.

Benjamin Hegeman

Benjamin is a lifelong, Kingdom-focused missiological researcher, historian of Islam, curriculum developer, teacher, and consultant. He brings decades of cross-cultural ministry experience—including language learning, disciple-making, and pastoral care—in Canada, Benin, Niger, and the U.S.

Together with his wife, Christine, Benjamin has served as a career missionary for over 35 years, ministering among Christians, traditional worshippers, and Muslims.

He is the co-founder and Academic Dean of the Lilias Trotter Center, where he helps equip others for effective ministry among Muslims.

His primary contributions to Kingdom teams include writing, teaching, curriculum development, disciple-making, and vision-casting. He is fluent in Dutch, French, and Baatonu.

Workshops

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:1-5
