DAY 23 - April 13 - REFUGEES (1)

April 13, 2023

Canada promised to accept 40,000 Afghan refugees, especially those who had worked for Canada. More than 26,000 have arrived, but many are waiting for the government to process applications from family members still in dangerous situations in Afghanistan or neighboring countries. The process is moving painfully slowly, for a variety of reasons, while famine threatens and conditions deteriorate severely for women and girls. Meanwhile, an Afghan church is being birthed in Canada!

Jesus, separated from His earthly family for 2000 years, understands the pain of separation. Pray He would appear in dreams and visions to those who are waiting in Canada and abroad, comfort them and show them in their distress the way to come home to the Father. Pray for the Afghan Canadian church to thrive and mature. Pray for discernment in screening and for effectiveness and efficiency in processing applications for the Hon. Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship and for Immigration and Citizenship Canada. (John 14:6, Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Timothy 2:1-3)

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

Nelson Mandela

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
