The social cohesion of Muslim communities may seem enviable to Western Christians. The negative side of cohesion can be such strong pressure to attend mosque and conform to communal norms that individuals feel trapped and experience hopelessness, even despair. Muslims are often more willing to confide in Christians about their problems than in other Muslims who would regard their “weakness” as shameful.

Pray Christians would recognize when Muslim friends need comfort and encouragement and be trustworthy confidantes. Pray for gentle boldness and the faith to pray for them in Jesus’ name. Pray their shame would be removed, and that they would see answers to those prayers and would give glory to Jesus. (Proverbs 18:24, Isaiah 28:16, 1 John 5:14)

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.
