Day 11 (March 20) - RADICALISM

March 20, 2024

Ramadan can be an intense spiritual experience, involving personal devotion and sacrifice, nightly celebrations with family and community at the iftar (evening fast-breaking meal), reading the Qur’an, and praying and listening to sermons. Radical leaders may use this time to call for violence against non-Muslims, following the example of Muhammad, and their followers may respond with religious fervor. It’s a difficult time for global Christians living among Muslims.

Pray for extremist leaders with a zeal for doing what they think is right to be arrested by the Lord, as Saul (Paul) was on his way to Damascus (Acts 9:1-19, Luke 17:1-2). Pray for those who would seek to do harm, and ask the Lord to protect minority communities (Matthew 5:43-48, Psalm 91).

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

Nelson Mandela

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
