Day 14 (March 23) - CHILDREN AND YOUTH

March 23, 2024

Children in Canadian Muslim families navigate living in two cultures—one in their home and mosque community and the other in their schools and neighbourhoods. Many have experienced significant transitions. Those who came to Canada as refugees and immigrants may have experienced trauma. Youth may be attracted to the freedoms that Canadian culture seems to offer, or alternatively to radical piety to find a sense of belonging.

Pray Muslim children and youth will have many opportunities to learn about Jesus Christ and decide to follow Him from their earliest years. Pray Christian classmates and youth/sports leaders will confidently share their faith while being living testimonies of Jesus. (Proverbs 2:1-15, Luke 18:16-17, Matthew 5:13-16)

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

Mosque communities are often the target of hate and racism, but we are called to love. Perhaps the most loving thing we can do is to pray. Use this monthly blog to help inspire prayers of love and compassion for those who call your neighbourhood mosque their home.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

Nelson Mandela

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
