“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.” (Luke 15:4-6, ESV)
Eid ul-Fitr, the festival at the close of Ramadan, involves ritual prayers, sweets and visiting. Eid Mubarak (Blessed Eid) is the common greeting. Jesus, we rejoice with You over even one who has been found. “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb” (Rev 19:9).
But You’ve given us faith not for one but for 200,000 Canadian Muslims choosing to follow You during this 10-year prayer focus. We rejoice over the ways in which You have answered, are answering and will answer our prayers. You are worthy! “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” (Rev 5:13b)
