WEEK ONE:  COME TO THE FATHER

“I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to Me, ‘You are My Son; today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your heritage and the ends of the earth Your possession…’”

…Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son…Blessed are all who take refuge in Him." (Psalm 2:7-8, 10-12)

Psalm 2 is a sobering analysis of the world’s rebellion against God. But the Majesty in heaven has already determined that the nations will belong to His Heir. He promises wrath for those who reject the Heir but blessing for those who choose to take refuge in Him.

  • Praise the Father, who desires that none should perish (2 Peter 3:9), but invites all to come to Him and enjoy His gracious blessings.
  • Pray for Islam’s “kings” (leaders, teachers and jurists) to hear and heed God’s warning to “kiss the Son” and to feel the weight of responsibility for the destiny of those they lead.
  • Pray local mosques will cease taking “counsel together against the LORD and His Anointed” (vv 2-3) and become places where believers come to “serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling”.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
