FRIDAY, February 20

February 20, 2026

Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And He said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you…This is My name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.’”  (Exodus 3:13-15)

Friday is the day Muslims gather for communal prayer and a sermon. They pray to “Allah”, Arabic for “The God”, who is omnipresent but not manifest, too transcendent to be present in human affairs. About 2500 years ago, the true God revealed His name to be YHWH (Yahweh, “I am”). He makes Himself present in creation, time, and human affairs. He wants to have relationship with us and us with Him.

  • Thank YHWH for revealing Himself to you as _____________, _____________, _____________...
  • Pray that as Muslims devote themselves to prayer this Friday, their hearts would reject Allah’s distance and yearn to know the God who knows them and invites them to come into relationship. Thank YHWH that He is quick to respond to our desire for Him.

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
