“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”  (Matthew 11:28-30)

“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.”  (Matthew 6:7)

Islam is famous for its ritual prayers. Millions will gather today in mosques, on otherwise busy streets, and even stadiums. They come to prayer with sincere desire to please God by praying rightly, praying enough, and receiving a special blessing because of the fast. And most will fear that it’s not enough.

Thank Jesus for His gracious invitation to come to Him for rest. Rest in Him right now.

  • Pray for Muslims in communal and private prayer today to have space and Holy Spirit intervention to hear His gracious invitation to come to Him and enter His rest.
  • Pray for Muslim women to know that God sees them (Genesis 16:13) and loves them.
  • Pray for former Muslims now following Jesus to be reminded that His burden is light, and He will be present for them even when their former community is not.
  • Pray the Body of Christ, the Church, will love Christians from Muslim background in tangible ways.

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
