WEEK FOUR:  COME TO HIS GLORIOUS THRONE

One of the criminals who were hanged railed at Him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!” But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And He said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in paradise.”  (Luke 23:39-43)

Even on the cross, Jesus’ presence and practice caused controversy. Rather than lash out at His accuser, He responded to and enfolded the one who recognized Him as worthy to be King.

  • Listen to How Deep the Father’s Love for Us (Stuart Townend) and worship.
  • Pray Muslims will see Jesus Himself (not a substitute, as some Muslims speculate) on the cross, feel personally culpable, and come to the same conclusion as the second criminal.
  • Pray Muslims considering a decision to follow Christ will choose Him now and not delay.

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
