CELEBRATION

"Now thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph in Christ and through us reveals the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God a sweet fragrance of Christ among those who are saved and among those who perish. To the one we are the fragrance of death, which brings death, and to the other the fragrance of life, which brings life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not as many are who peddle the word of God. Instead, being sent by God, we sincerely speak in Christ in the sight of God".  (2 Corinthians 2:14-17 MEV)

Muslims call this day Eid al-Fitr (Festival of Breaking the Fast). This joyful celebration can take up to 3 days and encompasses themes of family, charity, specific prayers of thanks, and requests for forgiveness.

How do you want to celebrate the conclusion of our Ramadan prayer? Perhaps you’ve been invited by Muslim friends to a fast-breaking meal, or you perhaps you will invite some believers from Muslim backgrounds to your home for dinner and games. You carry the sweet fragrance of Christ! Or perhaps others who have also been following the Prayer Guide will gather with you to celebrate. Make your praises glorious!

Some suggested songs of thanksgiving and praise:

Gratitude + Great Are You Lord (Zac Rowe/Gateway Worship)

Banner (Brooke Ligertwood)

Tribes (Victory Worship)

Praise (in Farsi & English, Darya Music)

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
