SIM 2022 VIRTUAL BANQUET: "I was a stranger and you invited me in"

LMT & Partners Event

Date / April 7, 2022

Location / Online / 7:00PM (EDT)

The world as we know it is changing. There are more than 1 billion people - 12% of humanity - on the move as external and internal migrants fleeing persecution, poverty, war or as economic migrants. Some move out of their homelands to displacement camps in neighbouring countries like Ethiopia and Uganda. Some seek asylum and become refugees to Europe, as well as those coming to Canada. What are we doing with these God-given opportunities to build relationships and present the Gospel to ‘strangers’ in our midst?

Join us for an hour of celebration. Hear what God is doing in and through SIM workers to reach the diaspora with the Gospel.
Explore with us the meaning of Matthew 25:35 in real live contexts as we hear from:

• Somayyeh, who found Jesus as a refugee and now ministers to her newcomer neighbours

• Charles, as he discusses the role of sports in reaching the youth diaspora

• Kirill, as he ministers in a downtown refugee refuge

• Peter, sharing experiences of ministering to refugees in Europe

• Cherry, as she discusses the impact of displaced people due to civil unrest in Ethiopia

• Be blessed in song by Tohru and spoken word by Rochelle.

Pray for Your Mosque Community

Monthly Prayer Focus
Mosque communities are often the target of hate and racism, but we are called to love. Perhaps the most loving thing we can do is to pray. Use this monthly blog to help inspire prayers of love and compassion for those who call your neighbourhood mosque their home.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

Nelson Mandela

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
