LMT Webinar - Bible-based Trauma Healing & Your Muslim Friend

LMT & Partners Event

Date / June 15, 2023 (Thursday)

Location / Online / From 5 - 6:30 pm (PST) / 8 - 9:30 pm (EST)

You are invited to hear from Stacey Stolte and Steve Moses on Bible-based trauma healing, from the Trauma Healing Institute. This unique method combines proven mental health practices and engagement with God through the Bible. It is designed to help people identify their pain and loss, share their suffering with others, and bring their pain to Jesus, The Healer.

This initiative supports local leaders in providing holistic Scripture based programs, including  Finding Our Comfort in God (FOCG), contextualized trauma healing material designed for our Muslim friends as well a material designed to assist refugees in their healing journey.

The Canadian Bible Society (CBS) is investing in training and resourcing people to establish Bible-based Trauma Healing Facilitators across Canada. You will have a chance to learn about the path to becoming a trauma healing facilitator and clarify any question you may have.

In this webinar you will learn about:

  • Classic Bible-Based Trauma Healing: Caring for the Wounded Heart
  • A trauma healing story-set for resettled refugees
  • Story-based Trauma Healing: an oral approach for people with high trauma but low literacy, including minority languages with no written form
  • Finding Our Comfort in God (FOCG): designed for our Muslim friends
  • The path to becoming a Trauma Healing Facilitator

Steve Moses, Master Facilitator in Healing the Wounds of Trauma: Finding Our Comfort in God (FOCG); he was a part of a team including Northern Africans and Middle Easterners who developed these trauma healing materials for our Muslim friends

Steve has worked with and lived among Muslims primarily from Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia for 27 years. Over the past 15 years, his attention has been among refugees and immigrants within the USA including being the Founding Director of World Relief Memphis.

Stacey Stolte, Program Lead for Bible-Based Trauma Healing at the Canadian Bible Society (CBS); Master Facilitator in the Classic Bible-Based Trauma Healing: Caring for the Wounded Heart; Apprentice Facilitator in the Story-based form of Healing the Wounds of Trauma.

We invite you to attend this ninety minute webinar, including a Q&A session and time of prayer.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

Nelson Mandela

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
