LMT Members Covenant
We commit to supporting God’s work through the Loving Muslims Together network as able through the ministry of prayer; by being proactive in taking opportunities to share with, learn from, encourage, and meet face to face those involved in the Loving Muslims Together network; by giving of our time and financial resources to help the Network; and by encouraging others to engage.
Loving Muslims Together is a ministry of Outreach Canada and is accountable to OC’s Board of Directors through OC’s staff. We adhere to OC’s Vision, Mission, Statement of Faith, Core Values and Personal Values as we work together in the Loving Muslims Together network.
OC's Vision, Mission, Statement of Faith and Values
1. Outreach Canada Vision
The Vision of Outreach Canada is the fulfilling of the Great Commission in Canada and abroad, by assisting the Body of Christ to make disciples of all peoples (Matthew 9:36-38, 28:18-20).
2. Outreach Canada Mission
In obedience to the Lord of the Harvest, the Mission of Outreach Canada is to encourage and serve local churches, evangelical Christian denominations, para-church and market-place organizations, and all believers in their efforts in fulfilling our Lord’s Great commission in Canada and abroad. It is our God-given task to help these organizations develop godly, effective leaders so they may set and reach the goals of God for their respective ministries. Our motto, “Empowering Churches to Grow and Plant” expresses our sense of mission. Outreach Canada comes alongside churches, coaching them toward a healthy church life cycle, by assisting them to: Plant, Grow, Mobilize, and Reproduce.
3. Outreach Canada Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of a lost, sinful humanity, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling Christians are enabled to live godly lives.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
4. Outreach Canada Core Values
There are hundreds of “faith missions.” What is it that makes OC unique? Outreach Canada holds four distinctive values which underlie and define what we are as a mission. They are:
4.1. Whole Nation Focus
OC believes that whole nations can and should be reached with the gospel. OC team members seek to work strategically to affect the entire nation. (Matthew 28:19)
4.2. “Body of Christ” Mobilization
OC believes its work is to resource and support the work of indigenous evangelical churches and leaders, regardless of denomination. OC team members focus on equipping gifted people for ministry. (Ephesians 4:11 – 12)
4.3. Healthy Church Multiplication
OC believes that the most effective means of evangelism is saturation church planting. OC supports the establishment of healthy witnessing evangelical congregations within the physical and cultural proximity of every person in every nation. (Matthew 16:18, Acts 1:8)
4.4. Team Ministry
OC believes that the overall impact of individuals is maximized by working in teams. OC follows the biblical pattern of the Lord Jesus Christ and the apostle Paul of combining co-laborers with diverse and complementary gifts to provide ministry support, accountability, and synergy. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
5. Outreach Canada Personal Values
5.1. Prayer
We will promote individual and corporate prayer as a basis of our ministry.
5.2. Godly Life Style
We will promote living our lives with personal holiness and integrity, in our homes, and in our ministry. We will promote regular reading of the Word of God for character development and growth in our spiritual lives.
5.3. Family
We will promote healthy family living by encouraging quality time be spent at home. We will promote the OC team as a family and encourage each other in the ministry.
5.4. Personal Development
We will promote ongoing learning to further develop our God given skills and abilities.
5.5. Church
We will promote regular church attendance and the encouragement of all church leadership. We will promote the church as God’s plan to accomplish His purposes on this earth until He returns.
5.6. Servanthood
We will promote the attitude of Biblical servanthood in all of our ministries; being more willing to give than to receive, being willing to serve not focusing on who gets the credit as all credit goes to the one we serve.
