LMT Network Digest - February 2023

As we watch with dismay and grief the rising death toll from the earthquakes in Turkey, we walk alongside a community here in Canada that are feeling the aftershocks in their own lives. In an interconnected world we can probably think of those in our lives who are waiting anxiously for news of loved ones, who are trying to find ways to support rescue and support efforts, who are struggling as their own traumas are triggered as they watch the trauma of others. 

It is easy to let our eyes become fixed on the newsfeed as horror after horror is uncovered. Instead, let's lift our eyes up and intercede together for those who are impacted by this disaster. 

God our Father we lift up those who are in trouble today and ask that you would rescue them. 

God our Father we lift up those who are trapped today and pray that you would set them free. 

God our Father we lift up those who mourn today and ask that you would bring comfort. 

God our Father we lift up those who are homeless today and pray that you would give them shelter. 

God our Father we lift up those who are working hard to rescue, that you would give them strength and skill for the work. 

God our Father we lift up those who are caring for the injured, that you would give them strength and skill for the work. 

God our Father we pray that you would bring resources to the right people in the right places at the right time.  

We lift up your people, your church, in Turkey, that they would know how to love and serve the way you would love and serve in these calamitous days. Shine brightly through them; use them to restore hope and renew courage and use them as conduits of your peace.  

May your love be on display through the service of your people--may many be drawn to your love through their actions. 

May your comfort be near to the broken-hearted--may they find shelter in your loving arms.
