NETWORK LIFE

September 2, 2021

One of the best things about being part of a Canada-wide network is the variety of activity that is going on in various places. Here’s four highlighted:

  • The LMT network is launching a series of webinars that we hope will be of use to many. Lane is starting us off by addressing a passion of his--evangelism. Lane will share from his experience of sharing the gospel as a lifestyle, address barriers that hold us back from sharing the gospel, help us discover ways to move out of our comfort zone and give us tips for asking questions that move conversations in the right direction. You can find out more and register to participate here.
  • Chris from Global Gates Canada is working with a multi-ministry team (TIM Centre, Lausanne, EFC, etc.) to build the P4N app. This app is focused on making available prayer profiles for the least-reached groups living in our Canadian cities. Want to pray for Afghans in Toronto? There’s a profile on the app for that. While not exclusively focused on Muslim groups, the app is a great place to get ‘on the ground’ information about various ethnic groups. You can find the app in your app store (search Pray 4 Nations). Currently the profiles are focused mostly in Toronto, but teams are being developed for other cities to write for their context. Know a lot about a particular ethnic group in your city? Help write a contribution for the app. You can get connected by reaching out directly to Chris if you know him, or else we’ll gladly make the introduction. Write if you’re interested to info@lmtn.ca.
  • Pastor Obed in Toronto is working hard to raise funds to sponsor Christian Afghan families to come to Canada. All of us have seen the images of the rapid collapse of the Afghan government, the mass exodus of expatriate populations, and the scramble to evacuate those Afghans who are deemed vulnerable because they supported the war against the Taliban or they were involved in activities not condoned by them. But what about those who have chosen to leave Islam and follow Jesus? They are certainly at risk. In a newsletter sent out several weeks back we highlighted ways to pray and ways to get involved including this initiative
  • Pastor Richard in Ottawa has a similar vision to bring Arabic speaking Christian refugees from the Middle East to Canada to plant Arabic churches in cities across Canada. These ‘near-neighbour’ Christians have a greater understanding of the cultures of Arabic-speaking Muslims in Canada, and Richard has a proven strategy that has led to church planting. Want to know more? Let us know and we’ll introduce you the Pastor Richard.

Maybe you want your story highlighted? Reach out and let us know what you’re doing! info@lmtn.ca

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
