NETWORK LIFE

January 5, 2022

Last month, the Network Circle reported that our membership registration is officially open! With a soft launch in September and after working out a few kinks, there is now a process in place for you to take advantage of the plethora of resources and connections that are available through membership. If you have not yet had a chance to register, a straightforward, step by step registration process is outlined in the December 2020 LMT Network Digest newsletter.

Once you have completed your registration and are an official LMT member, you will gain access to the LMT Connect Portal via the link in your welcome email or by clicking the red ‘Members’ button on our website. Logging in using your email and the password (also from the welcome email, and you may have reset it to personalize it) will take you to the home screen of the LMT Connect Portal. From there, you can explore all of the resources that are developed for members as well as contribute to the conversations taking place within the network.

The four main access branches within the LMT Connect Portal are:  1) Member Directory, 2) Circle Hubs, 3) Resources; and 4) Questions & Answers. The focus this month is on Circle Hubs.

Circle Hubs is a place for members to connect and collaborate around shared interests and passion. Members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the circles and join one of interest where you can engage and connect with others. There are six circles at this time (new ones can be added on request).

Here is a brief description of each of the circles:

MBB (Christ followers from a Muslim Background) Hub

This group is a set apart space for those who have left Islam to follow Jesus. Need encouragement? Connection? Friendship? Community? We hope this space nurtures that.

Communication Hub

This group is a space to discuss ideas for telling the stories that need to be told. Whether it's a ministry story or a testimony, or a strategy for connecting with more people, this is your space.

Enlargement Hub

This group is a space for those who are passionate about seeing others getting involved in Muslim ministry. If you have ideas, connections, or other ways that you would think would build vision for Muslim ministry in churches and ministries, this is your space.

Members Hub

This group is your starting point. Anything you want to talk about is welcome here. Got an idea? Question? Comment? Members Hub is the place to go.

Network Hub

This group is a space for those who are motivated to connect, develop and strengthen the LMT Network across Canada.

Prayer Hub

This group is a space for those who are passionate about praying and catalyzing prayer for Muslims in Canada. It's also a space to pray together for our needs and to encourage one another.

Resources Hub

This group is a space to discuss resources, ask questions, and interact with others who are wanting to be more effective in reaching out to Muslims.

We invite you to come and explore! Join a conversation and speak into where we are going. As a network, we really are stronger together. Let's continue to encourage and help each other as we collectively pursue the vision that every Muslim in Canada can have the opportunity to become a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Still have questions? The Network Circle members (Howard Moore – Facilitator, Cheryl Walsh, Al Lowrie, Phil Johnston, Cristina Boersma, and Lorna Johnston) are ready to chat with you. You can reach them at networkcircle@lmtn.ca .

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

Mosque communities are often the target of hate and racism, but we are called to love. Perhaps the most loving thing we can do is to pray. Use this monthly blog to help inspire prayers of love and compassion for those who call your neighbourhood mosque their home.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
