Today more than ever, Christians in Canada have the God given opportunity to love and engage with people from all over the world who have made Canada their new home. According to the latest CENSUS, Statistics Canada reported that there were 1.8 million Muslims living in Canada in 2021.
For the past seventeen years, the Loving Muslims Together Network has been committed to its mandate to rally and support the Canadian church to give all Muslims in Canada the opportunity to become disciples of Jesus Christ.
At the core of our DNA is a desire to see Christians engaged, inspired, burdened, and equipped to walk alongside Muslims in their journey to Jesus. Prayer is the fuel of our Network; prayer aligns us with what the Lord is doing in Canada; prayer renews our capacity; prayer moves the Church to join in; and prayer draws Muslims to Jesus.
We know that Muslim outreach can feel lonely, sometimes discouraging, and even tiring. For leaders, the task of mobilizing, engaging, and encouraging Christians to love and befriend Muslims can also feel daunting at times.
To help you gather in person and reconnect with like-minded people who are ministering to Muslims around Canada, to pray, fellowship together, and encourage one another, we have prepared a series of resources that we hope to make available to you in a few weeks. We will give you a sneak peek into what’s to come:
- A short 5-minute video introducing the LMT Network, the many resources we offer and many opportunities for people to get involved
- An invitation for Christians to join the LMT Network (short video)
- An MBB testimony to inspire you to start or continue praying for and ministering to the Mosque community in your neighborhood (short video)
- A local ministry story from a local ministry
- An invitation for Christians to financially support our National Coordinator, who coordinates the initiatives we offer and provides support to our Network leaders who are praying for and ministering to Muslims across Canada (short video).
- The latest CENSUS data on country of origin and religion by Statistics Canada (ppt maps).
