NETWORK LIFE

May 17, 2024

This month we are featuring the ministry of House of Omeed located in Vancouver, BC.

According to Macrotrends, Canada is home to 140,621.00 refugees. With nearly 1.8 million Muslims living and working in Canada, many refugees are of Muslim background, in need of the forgiveness, hope, and salvation found in Jesus Christ.

"The House of Omeed exists to inspire hope in the hearts of refugees and newcomers to Canada as they are transplanted into an unfamiliar, incomprehensible society. Many intimidating obstacles such as language barriers, unemployment, and not knowing a single person, can cause newcomers to lose hope of ever settling in and feeling comfortable in their beautiful and relatively safe, new home.

From the conception of our charity, God has been faithful in enabling us to help thousands of our newcomers and refugees in their hardships. We are a registered charity governed and run by people who were once refugees themselves, and we offer loving care and support for newcomers, refugees, and people in the Middle East. " (from the ministry's website).

We encourage you to visit the House of Omeed's website https://houseofomeed.ca/ and get involved in God's work among refugees in Vancouver through this ministry.

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.

Nelson Mandela

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. And your neighbor as yourself.
