Pray for the Muslim community in your Neighborhood

As you pray this month for your local Muslim community, use these Prayer Pointers to help:

• From May 6th to June 4th Muslims worldwide will be participating in daily fasting and prayer for Ramadan. Pray for the Muslims in your neighborhood, that God will use this time to woo and win them towards a relationship with Himself.
• Lay down at the foot of the cross any preconceived ideas or judgements you may have about Muslims and Islam. “Father align our hearts with yours as we pray for our Muslim neighbors. Help us to pray in line with your heart and will”.
• “Father raise up the church to see the urgency of prayer and outreach to Muslims. Use our prayers to push back the spiritual forces of Islam in our neighborhood. Strengthen your church to move in compassion, breaking feelings of helplessness, apathy and fear.”
• Pray that Muslim hearts in your community will be stirred by the presence of Jesus.
• Pray for those who have experienced loss, trauma and significant change. “Father heal emotional wounds and bring release from the torment of painful memories.”
• Pray God will stir up questions on the teachings of Islam in our local Muslim community. Pray too that God would prepare the soil of their spirits to be fertile ground. “Father bring about a longing for truth and relationship with a God who loves and cares.”
• Pray that God will interrupt the lives of our Muslim neighbors during Ramadan with revelation of Himself. “Father, will you enter the thoughts, conversation and interactions with others, to reveal yourself to our Muslim neighbors. Will you use Christian friendship, local churches, dreams and visions to draw them to yourself. “
• During Ramadan pray for local Muslim leaders, Imams, community leaders, husbands and their families. “Father will you release your Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that the eyes of their hearts will be enlightened.” (Eph. 1.17-18).
• Pray for massive mental tectonic shifts for Muslim neighbors in your neighborhood during Ramadan. “Many Christians ask me why devout Muslims are not immediately convinced by my arguments for Christianity…Their prevailing understanding is that ‘Islam is obviously true: Christianity is obviously false’, and any input they receive is filtered accordingly…. switching between the two requires massive mental tectonic shifts” (Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, p290 – Nabeel Qureshi).
