Markham describes itself as the high-tech capital of Canada and the country’s most diverse community, enjoying a rich heritage, outstanding community planning and services, and a vibrant local economy.

Markham is part of the Toronto East LMT Network. There are 6 members of the Network Leadership Team (NLT), who are all actively engaged in outreach to Muslims.

Pray:

  • for the LMT Network Leadership Team as we seek to co-ordinate prayer for Muslims across the city of Markham. In addition to monthly prayer meetings, the NLT is looking for churches who will adopt their local neighborhood mosque community in prayer. So far, we have two churches praying for their local mosque. Pray God will connect us to churches to cover the remaining mosques.
  • that God will raise up local pastors who will see the opportunity of ministry to their local mosque community. Pray that God will place a burning conviction in the hearts of church leaderships that will drive them to prayer for God’s direction and opportunities for engagement.
  • for Christian individuals in Markham who are engaging with Muslim neighbors and co-workers. Pray for courage, conviction and opportunity to share Jesus as they build relationship.

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

Mosque communities are often the target of hate and racism, but we are called to love. Perhaps the most loving thing we can do is to pray. Use this monthly blog to help inspire prayers of love and compassion for those who call your neighbourhood mosque their home.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.
