The month of Ramadan has passed for another year. Many of you were focused on daily prayer for Muslims around the world and here in Canada.

In a few weeks, almost a quarter of the world’s population, and about 1 in 20 Canadians will begin the month of Ramadan. Beginning the evening of March 10 and continuing until sundown April 8, this month will be a central focus for the Muslim community.

Remain. Happy New Year! Starting off this New Year, 2024, I have been chewing on the word, ‘Remain’ Jesus spoke extensively about remaining (or abiding) recorded by the Apostle John in John 15. (Emphasis mine.)

As the news continues to bring reports of turmoil and calamity in the Middle East we see the turmoil there impacting people here in our nation as well. Lets join together in united prayer:

For many decades Canada has been welcoming International Students and this year is no different. For example, one college in a small Ontario city has just welcomed 1000 new foreign students!

One of the beautiful opportunities that the LMT Network has is to encourage the church in Canada to reach across barriers to love Muslims who are our neighbours.

If you look through the wrong end of a telescope, rather than enlarging your view, the telescope actually shrinks and distorts what you see. If the viewer didn’t know better, it would be possible to believe that what was being seen from the wrong end of the telescope is the correct view. 

The countdown is on to the month of Ramadan. It begins the evening of March 22 and ends the evening of April 20. The Night of Power is April 17.

As we watch with dismay and grief the rising death toll from the earthquakes in Turkey, we walk alongside a community here in Canada that are feeling the aftershocks in their own lives.

Happy New Year! I feel like I’m coming just under the wire in greeting you! But for being a bit late, the thought is just as sincere! Hopefully there has been some time somewhere in the flipping of the calendar to take a deep breath and sit quietly with the Lord to listen for his heart.
